Translations

(Etheridge) not by works of righteousness which we had done, but by his own mercy he saved us, by the laving of the birth which is afresh, by the renewing of the Spirit of Holiness,

(Murdock) not by works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his mercy, he vivified us, by the washing of the new birth, and by the renovation of the Holy Spirit,

(Lamsa) Not so much by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit;

(KJV) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
