Translations

(Etheridge) But this he said trying him; for he knew what he was about to do.

(Murdock) And this he said, to try him; for he knew what he was about to do.

(Lamsa) He said this merely to test him; for he knew what he would do.

(KJV) And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
