Translations

(Etheridge) But there were possessions in that place (belonging) to a certain man whose name was Publios, who himself was the chief of the island; and he cheerfully received us into his house three days.

(Murdock) And there were lands in that quarter, belonging to a man named Publius, who was the chief man of the island: and he cheerfully received us at his house three days.

(Lamsa) There were villages in that region, belonging to a man whose name was Pub'li-us, the chief man of the island; and he gladly received us at his house for three days.

(KJV) In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.
