Translations

(Etheridge) But they understood not [Knew not.] his word, and feared to ask him.

(Murdock) But they did not understand that speech; and they were afraid to ask him.

(Lamsa) But they did not understand the saying, and they were afraid to ask him.

(KJV) But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
