Translations

(Etheridge) For the creation hath been subjected to vanity, not willingly, ^{[Or, not with her will.]} but on account of him who subjected her, upon the hope

(Murdock) For the creation was subjected to vanity, not by its own choice, but because of him who subjected it,

(Lamsa) For man was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who gave him free will in the hope he would choose rightly.

(KJV) For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
