Translations

(Etheridge) Nor do they kindle a lamp and place it beneath a measure, but on a candlestick, and it enlighteneth all who are in the house.

(Murdock) And they do not light a lamp and place it under a bushel; but upon a lightstand, and it giveth light to all that are in the house.

(Lamsa) Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp holder, so it gives light to all who are in the house.

(KJV) Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
