Translations

(Etheridge) But when they were gone, Jeshu began to speak to the assembly concerning Juchanon: What went you forth into the waste to see ? a reed that by the wind was shaken ?

(Murdock) And when they were gone, Jesus began to say to the multitudes, concerning John: What went ye into the wilderness to see ? A reed that waved in the wind?

(Lamsa) When they went away, Jesus began to speak to the people concerning John, What did you go out to the wilderness to see? A reed which is shaken by the wind?

(KJV) And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
