Translations

(Etheridge) And he groaned in his spirit, and said, Why seeketh this generation the sign ? Amen I say to you, There shall not be given the sign unto this generation.

(Murdock) And he sighed with his breath, and said: Why doth this generation seek after a sign ? Verily I say to you, No sign will be given to this generation.

(Lamsa) And he sighed in his spirit and said, Why does this generation want a sign? truly I say to you, No sign will be given to this generation.

(KJV) And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.
