Translations
(Etheridge) No man inserteth a new piece, and seweth it upon an old vestment; lest that new should take away its fulness from the old, and make the rent the greater.
(Murdock) No one taketh a patch of new cloth and seweth it upon an old garment, lest the supplemental new should take from the old, and the rent become the greater.
(Lamsa) No man puts a new patch and sews it on a worn out garment, so that the new patch may not weaken the old, and the hole become larger.
(KJV) No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.
