Translations

(Etheridge) He is like a man who built a house, and digged deep, and laid the foundations upon the rock: but when there was an inundation, ^{[Or, fulness, that is, of water.]} the inundation beat against that house, and it could not shake it, for its foundations were set upon a rock.

(Murdock) He is like a man that built a house; and he dug and went deep, and laid the foundations on a rock: and when a flood occurred, the flood rushed upon that house, and could not move it, for its foundation rested on a rock.

(Lamsa) He is like a man who built a house, and dug deep, and laid its foundations upon the rock; and when the flood came, the flood beat upon that house, and could not shake it; for its foundation was laid upon a rock.

(KJV) He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
