John 1:8 - ܠܳܐ ܗܽܘ ܗܘܳܐ ܢܽܘܗܪܳܐ ܐܶܠܳܐ ܕ݁ܢܶܣܗܰܕ݂ ܥܰܠ ܢܽܘܗܪܳܐ ܀

Translations

(Etheridge) He was not the Light himself, but came to testify concerning the Light.

(Murdock) He was not himself the light, but [came] to bear witness concerning the light.

(Lamsa) He was not the light, but to testify concerning the light.

(KJV) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
