Translations

(Etheridge) And I knew him not, but that he should be made known unto Isroel, therefore have I come with waters to baptize.

(Murdock) And I knew him not; but that he might be known to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

(Lamsa) And I did not know him; but that he might be made known to Israel, I came to baptize with water.

(KJV) And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
