Translations

(Etheridge) For not by the will of man came any prophecy, but while by the Holy Spirit led spake the holy men of God.

(Murdock) For at no time was it by the pleasure of man, that the prophecy came; but holy men of God spoke, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

(Lamsa) For the prophecy did not come by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke when they were inspired by the Holy Spirit.

(KJV) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
