Matthew 2:18 - ܩܳܠܳܐ ܐܶܫܬ݁ܡܰܥ ܒ݁ܪܳܡܬ݂ܳܐ ܒ݁ܶܟ݂ܝܳܐ ܘܶܐܠܝܳܐ ܣܰܓ݁ܺܝܳܐܐ ܪܳܚܶܝܠ ܒ݁ܳܟ݂ܝܳܐ ܥܰܠ ܒ݁ܢܶܝܗ ܘܠܳܐ ܨܳܒ݂ܝܳܐ ܠܡܶܬ݂ܒ݁ܰܝܳܐܘܽ ܡܶܛܽܠ ܕ݁ܠܳܐ ܐܺܝܬ݂ܰܝܗܽܘܢ ܀

Translations

(Etheridge) A cry was heard in Rometha; weeping and great lamentation; Rochel weeping for her children, and not willing to be comforted, because they are not.

(Murdock) A voice was heard in Rama, weeping and great lamentation; Rachel bemoaning her children , and unwilling to be comforted, because they are no more.

(Lamsa) A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and wailing exceedingly, Rachel weeping for her sons, and she would not be comforted, because they could not be brought back.

(KJV) In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.
