James 5:17 - ܐܳܦ݂ ܐܺܠܺܝܳܐ ܒ݁ܰܪܢܳܫܳܐ ܗܘܳܐ ܚܳܫܽܘܫܳܐ ܐܰܟ݂ܘܳܬ݂ܰܢ ܘܨܰܠܺܝ ܕ݁ܠܳܐ ܢܶܚܽܘܬ݂ ܡܶܛܪܳܐ ܥܰܠ ܐܰܪܥܳܐ ܘܠܳܐ ܢܚܶܬ݂ ܬ݁ܠܳܬ݂ ܫܢܺܝܢ ܘܶܫܬ݁ܳܐ ܝܰܪܚܺܝܢ ܀

Translations

(Etheridge) Elia also was a man of suffering, as we; and he prayed that the rain should not fall upon the earth, and it fell not (for) three years and six months.

(Murdock) Elijah also was a man of sensations like us, and he prayed that rain might not descend upon the earth; and it descended not, for three years and six months.

(Lamsa) Even Elijah, who was a weak man like ourselves, prayed earnestly that it might not rain upon the land, and it did not rain for three years and six months.

(KJV) Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
