Translations

(Etheridge) seeking to become teachers of the law, while they understand not what they speak, nor that concerning which they contend.

(Murdock) because they wished to be teachers of the law, while they understood not what they speak, nor the thing about which they contend.

(Lamsa) Desiring to be teachers of the law; not understanding what they speak, nor even whereof they argue.

(KJV) Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
