Translations

(Etheridge) Juchanon said to him, Rabi, we saw a man casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he did not adhere to us.

(Murdock) John said to him: Rabbi, we saw one casting out demons in thy name, and we forbad him, because he adhereth not to us.

(Lamsa) John said to him, Teacher, we saw a man casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he did not follow us.

(KJV) And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
