John 5:16 - ܘܡܶܛܽܠ ܗܳܕ݂ܶܐ ܪܳܕ݂ܦ݁ܺܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܝܺܗܽܘܕ݂ܳܝܶܐ ܠܝܶܫܽܘܥ ܘܒ݂ܳܥܶܝܢ ܗ݈ܘܰܘ ܠܡܶܩܛܠܶܗ ܕ݁ܗܳܠܶܝܢ ܥܳܒ݂ܶܕ݂ ܗ݈ܘܳܐ ܒ݁ܫܰܒ݁ܬ݂ܳܐ ܀

Translations

(Etheridge) On account of this the Jihudoyee persecuted Jeshu, and sought to kill him, because these things he had done on the shabath.

(Murdock) And for this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill him; because he had done these things on the sabbath.

(Lamsa) And for this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus and wanted to kill him, because he was doing these things on the sabbath.

(KJV) And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
